Role Summary

The Mechanical Structural Inspector will work full-time on-site in Ras Laffan. The key duties involve conducting thorough inspections of mechanical and structural elements to ensure they meet established codes, standards, and project requirements. Daily responsibilities include organizing and executing inspections, documenting observations, creating detailed reports, and proposing solutions for identified defects or non-conformities.

The role requires reviewing technical drawings and CAD models, liaising with maintenance and engineering departments, and overseeing repair tasks to guarantee compliance with quality and safety standards. Accurate record-keeping of inspection activities, participation in safety audits, and contributing to the enhancement of inspection procedures are integral parts of the position.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Solid educational background in Mechanical Engineering with practical knowledge of mechanical and structural systems.
  • Experienced in diverse inspection techniques, including visual, dimensional, and non-destructive testing methods.
  • Familiarity with maintenance processes of mechanical and structural equipment, problem-solving skills, and assessment of repair effectiveness.
  • Proficient in interpreting and utilizing Computer-Aided Design (CAD) documentation and engineering plans.
  • Exposure to the automotive or related heavy industrial sectors, preferably involving heavy machinery or infrastructure.
  • Possession of a relevant technical diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar discipline.
  • Understanding of industry standards and safety regulations such as ISO, ASME, and structural codes.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical capabilities, and aptitude for producing comprehensive inspection documentation.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams on-site.
  • Prior experience working in Ras Laffan or analogous industrial settings is considered beneficial.
