Role Summary
We are searching for a skilled Payroll Manager to lead our Payroll Services team. This leader will ensure precise and timely payroll delivery, maintaining high client satisfaction and acting as an expert resource for both payroll processing and systems. The role includes managing daily workflows, motivating staff, and consistently refining processes to meet service standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee team workflow ensuring capacity meets standards and tasks are fairly assigned using data insights and performance evaluation.
- Deliver accurate payroll by managing team skills and workload, utilizing Salesforce effectively.
- Ensure adherence to policies and procedures, improving processes for added value and efficiency.
- Communicate with clients professionally, handling challenging scenarios as they arise.
- Act as the escalation point for payroll queries and client concerns, raising issues to senior management when necessary.
- Represent Payroll Services across departments to support collaborative initiatives.
- Hold accountability for team performance by providing clear leadership, guidance, and motivation.
- Promote ongoing employee development through coaching, training, and performance management.
- Support positive team morale and career growth satisfaction.
- Work closely with other payroll teams and participate in cross-functional projects.
- Maintain up-to-date payroll and leadership expertise, staying informed of policy changes to act as a subject matter expert.
- Undertake additional assignments and special projects as directed.
Qualifications
- 5 to 7 years of progressive experience in payroll or a comparable subject matter expertise.
- 1 to 3 years’ experience in managing direct reports.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Business Administration, Finance, or a related area.
- Familiarity with business intelligence tools such as Qlik, Tableau, and Salesforce.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong payroll processing knowledge.
- Demonstrated ability to coach and motivate team members.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint).
- Ability to independently manage multiple projects with strong organizational and prioritization skills.
- Detail oriented with a commitment to quality deliverables.
- Analytical mindset to solve problems and identify root causes.
- Adaptable and flexible to meet critical deadlines.

Compensation
The salary for this position ranges from $95,000 to $110,000 annually and will be determined based on experience related to the role.
