Java Developer

Role Overview

Seeking an experienced Java Developer with five to nine years in backend software development to architect, build, and maintain scalable server-side services. This position involves creating robust application modules, ensuring high-quality output, and collaborating cross-functionally to translate business needs into functional software solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and implement backend services utilizing Java and Spring Boot frameworks.
• Develop and sustain RESTful APIs to facilitate web and application integrations.
• Interact with relational databases like PostgreSQL, crafting efficient SQL queries.
• Design microservices with support for deployment in container environments, including Docker and Kubernetes.
• Engage in peer code reviews, conduct testing, debug issues, and provide production support.
• Collaborate closely with product management, quality assurance, DevOps, and engineering teams to meet deadlines and deliver features.
• Focus on enhancing application performance, scalability, and reliability through sound engineering standards.
• Maintain clear and thorough documentation relating to technical solutions, updates, and implementation specifics.

Required Qualifications

• Five to nine years of backend software development experience.
• Proven expertise with Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience architecting and developing RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases, SQL, and query tuning.
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes in development or deployment contexts.
• Competency in Linux or Ubuntu operating systems.
• Experience with code review processes, unit testing, and continuous integration/continuous deployment approaches.
• Ability to thrive in Agile and Scrum environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.

Preferred Skills

• Experience working with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform.
• Exposure to tuning performance and scalability in high-traffic systems.
• Knowledge of legacy code modernization or SaaS application development.
• Python scripting skills for automation or support purposes.
