About the Role

We are partnering with a top-tier manufacturer of premium household appliances who is broadening its portfolio into smart product offerings. This strategic expansion encompasses a comprehensive global initiative involving development across embedded software, cloud infrastructure, and innovative mobile application interfaces.

We seek a skilled and inventive Mobile Developer to design and maintain applications tailored for a variety of iOS devices such as smartphones and tablets. The focus lies in creating iOS applications integrated with backend services, collaborating closely with engineers across different infrastructure layers, and contributing to sophisticated design and quality product creation.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop innovative iOS functionalities that enable users to connect, configure, and control the client’s latest devices, including sensors, motors, and networked appliances.
• Work collaboratively with cross-disciplinary teams composed of firmware engineers, cloud/API developers, UX/UI designers, and QA professionals.
• Enhance and maintain the iOS app’s architecture, managing modules, user flows, connectivity layers, UI components, and state management.
• Ensure code adheres to standards for quality, testability, performance, maintainability, and user experience excellence.
• Facilitate integration of new hardware by managing device discovery via Bluetooth and WiFi, pairing procedures, firmware updates, and cloud synchronization.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to connectivity, network reliability, Bluetooth/WiFi interactions, memory, and performance.
• Contribute to code reviews, architectural discussions, and mentor junior team members.
• Support the complete mobile app lifecycle, including feature specification, development, testing, deployment to the App Store, feedback incorporation, and maintenance.
• Promote best practices including unit/UI testing, continuous integration, modular design, and version control usage.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Extensive experience (5+ years) in native iOS application development using Swift and comprehensive knowledge of iOS SDK, UIKit, and SwiftUI.
• Proven competence in integrating and working with hardware peripherals such as Bluetooth LE and WiFi modules or a strong understanding of connectivity workflows.
• Demonstrated ability in delivering production-grade applications with modular, clean, maintainable, and testable code.
• Proficiency in asynchronous programming paradigms including Combine, RxSwift, or async/await, and handling event-driven asynchronous flows.
• Strong experience consuming RESTful APIs and cloud services with expertise in JSON serialization, network error handling, caching, and offline capabilities.
• In-depth understanding of modular architectural patterns like MVVM, Coordinators, and Clean Architecture.
• Familiarity with MQTT protocol implementations.
• Experience utilizing version control tools (Git), CI/CD pipelines, writing unit tests (XCTest, XCUITest), and ideally UI automation testing.
• Knowledge of memory management, threading techniques, performance tuning, and troubleshooting typical mobile connectivity issues.
• Ability to operate effectively within agile/scrum teams and communicate product and firmware dependencies clearly to diverse stakeholders.
• Fluent English communication skills at an upper intermediate (B2) level or higher.

Preferred Attributes

• Hands-on experience with SwiftUI and migrating legacy UIKit codebases.
• Familiarity with reactive programming frameworks such as RxSwift or Combine.
• Exposure to IoT platforms and connected device ecosystems, including device discovery, provisioning, OTA updates, and telemetry.
• Technical knowledge of BLE protocols, WiFi provisioning, network security, and embedded firmware interactions.
• Experience using dependency injection frameworks, modularization with multiple app modules, and package management tools like Swift Package Manager or CocoaPods.
• Skills in automated UI testing (XCUITest) and performance analysis with profiling tools like Instruments.
• Background in consumer hardware or smart home technology sectors involving appliances, sensors, or robotics.
• Understanding of analytics, telemetry frameworks, feature flagging, remote configuration, and crash reporting systems.
• Experience collaborating with geographically dispersed teams or maintaining multi-region applications.
