Role Summary

The Global Payroll Implementation Specialist will join the Global Payroll Implementation team to technically onboard new customers of varying sizes to Remote’s Global Payroll platform accurately and on schedule. Reporting to the Manager of Global Payroll Implementations, this role plays a key part in delivering quality payroll setups and ensuring compliance with statutory regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary liaison for payroll customers, ensuring smooth and accurate payroll setup and transition.
  • Assess customer payroll requirements and provide tailored recommendations.
  • Manage new customer implementations from initial engagement through configuration and go-live.
  • Gather all essential payroll and employee data for legal entity setups.
  • Configure Remote’s Global Payroll system per customer specifications.
  • Coordinate parallel payroll runs and reconcile wage-based taxes to ensure accuracy.
  • Confirm payroll and tax compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Communicate and coordinate payroll go-live activities effectively.
  • Hand over finalized and accurate payrolls to Remote Payroll Operations team.
  • Maintain clear, timely communication with customers, colleagues, supervisors, and vendors.
  • Develop and sustain positive client relationships to drive high retention.
  • Provide training and support to customers and employees on payroll processes and country-specific requirements.
  • Ensure confidentiality of all customer and employee data.
  • Contribute to process documentation creation and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to improve the platform and perform User Acceptance Testing.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Extensive experience in global payroll implementations, including knowledge of statutory tax rules and payroll processing.
  • Proven track record with local payroll software technical setup.
  • Deep understanding of comprehensive global payroll and HR processes.
  • Experience in payroll operations and statutory compliance.
  • Competence in accounting reconciliations.
  • Strong data management aptitude with precision and attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to juggle multiple projects and stakeholders.
  • Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • High technical literacy, including data analysis and critical thinking.
  • Self-driven team player capable of autonomous work and ownership of tasks.
  • Customer-centric approach with strong relationship-building skills.
  • Passion for productivity improvements and automation techniques.
  • Proficiency with Google Sheets or Excel.
  • Comfort working within a MacBook Pro environment.
  • Ability and willingness to work primarily asynchronously.
  • Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
  • Remote work experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Notion, Slack, Zendesk, Monday.com, and Salesforce is beneficial but optional.
  • Knowledge of DACH region payroll software is an added plus.

  • Part of the Global Payroll Experience & Implementations team.
  • Applications from the EMEA region are prioritized, but all locations can apply.
  • Immediate start preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

The position offers a full-time salary range of €43,100 to €64,650 EUR annually, based on factors such as location, skills, experience, and market conditions. Remote ensures fair and competitive pay aligned with local market rates and global compensation strategies.
