Job Overview
This role is dedicated to creating and maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment throughout various store areas including floors, restrooms, offices, and breakrooms. The Floor Care Associate contributes to customer satisfaction by upholding consistent cleanliness standards and sanitary conditions, while fostering an inclusive workspace that respects diverse team backgrounds.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness across the sales floor, liquor store, office spaces, breakrooms, backrooms, training rooms, and restrooms, ensuring these areas are free from hazards.
- Operate floor care equipment along with related tools and chemicals; sweep and vacuum mats and rugs returning them to proper locations.
- Remove carpet spots and handle trash disposal efficiently, including deep restroom cleaning duties.
- Create a welcoming environment enhancing customer confidence and loyalty by assisting customers and providing a pleasant atmosphere.
- Ensure compliance with company standards related to safety, sanitation, food handling, and productivity.
- Adhere to regulatory compliance including USDA, COOL, and DOA requirements.
- Execute prompt product recalls and withdrawals securing affected items from customer access.
- Support safety programs by identifying, reporting unsafe conditions, and addressing equipment hazards.
- Report incidents such as accidents, safety risks, illegal activities including theft or fraud, and ensure all associates have safety training and use protective equipment appropriately.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum age requirement of 18 years.
- Authorization to work in the United States or ability to obtain such authorization.
- Completion of pre-employment drug screening and background check.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Customer service skills with strong interpersonal, motivational, and communication abilities.
- Experience from 0 to 3 years, supervisory experience preferred but not mandatory.
Physical and Environmental Conditions
The position demands frequent standing, walking, manual dexterity, and occasionally sitting, balancing, kneeling, or climbing. Candidates must be able to perform repetitive movements and safely handle loads up to 50 lbs, with pushing or pulling requirements up to 250 lbs. Work conditions include exposure to indoor and outdoor environments with varied temperatures and humidity, plus potential exposure to noise, dust, fumes, irritants, and hazardous cleaning substances. PPE such as goggles, gloves, and back braces are utilized.
Additional Information
- Occasional travel is required, but no overnight stays.
- Shift patterns are variable.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
