Financial Controller

About The Role

Take the helm of the finance department for Easy Signs, a growing international enterprise operating in Australia and the US. This senior leadership position involves end-to-end responsibility for financial reporting, controls, compliance, cash flow management, forecasting, and advancing financial systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and nurture the Finance and Purchasing teams.
• Manage month-end closing and financial as well as management reporting for both Australian and US divisions.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, reconciliations, taxation, and statutory compliance.
• Handle budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and working capital management.
• Coordinate statutory financial statements and lead the annual external audit process.
• Enhance financial control measures, governance frameworks, and reporting protocols.
• Supervise intercompany transactions, manage foreign exchange exposure, and ensure inventory and Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) accuracy.
• Collaborate with Directors and leadership on strategic commercial decisions.
• Promote improvements through finance system upgrades, process enhancements, and automation initiatives.

Candidate Profile

• Extensive experience in senior finance roles, specifically as a Financial Controller.
• Professional designation as a Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) preferred.
• Advanced technical expertise in accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop finance teams.
• Strong commercial acumen with the confidence to provide constructive challenge, advice, and drive improvements.
• Exceptional attention to detail with the capability to excel in dynamic, fast-moving environments.
• Proficient in Xero accounting software; familiarity with Airwallex, Dext, and ApprovalMax is highly advantageous.
• Strong aptitude for cloud-based financial systems and a proactive approach to continuous process improvement.
