Job description
Role Overview
Zip seeks an enthusiastic, tech-oriented sales professional with strong business understanding to join our expanding Business Development team. The primary focus is to generate new leads via outbound efforts, primarily through cold outreach, and collaborate with sales colleagues to schedule valuable meetings. This strategically important role demands creativity, tenacity, and close partnership with Account Executives to cultivate new client opportunities. The position is fully onsite supporting EMEA operations.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate extensively with the VP of Sales and Account Executives to identify and secure meetings that contribute to pipeline and revenue closures.
- Swiftly prospect and evaluate a large volume of accounts while smartly prioritizing efforts.
- Develop in-depth knowledge of target markets, industries, and buyer personas to better engage prospects.
- Formulate effective customer-centric perspectives and ask appropriate qualifying questions to match client needs.
- Adapt and help evolve the sales process within a fast-growing, early-stage company.
Qualifications
- At least 6 to 12 months of sales experience or a similar track record.
- Proven consistent achievement of goals and targets.
- Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving skills, adaptable with a solutions-oriented approach.
- Must be able to work from our Kings Cross office five days a week; hybrid options may open after meeting quotas.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with tools such as Salesforce, Outreach, ZoomInfo, ScratchPad, Gong, and SalesNavigator.
- Experience in technology or fast-paced environments is advantageous.
- Strong passion for fintech is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills with acute attention to detail.
- Embraces change and accountability effectively.
Onboarding and Development Milestones
Within two weeks: Complete training and onboarding, understand products and role significance, collaborate on success metrics, set personal goals, and assimilate into Business Development operations.
Within one month: Begin proactive prospecting by cold calls, emails, and campaigns, maintain prospect databases, qualify leads, and coordinate with Account Executives to secure new business.
Within two months: Meet activity benchmarks such as outbound calls and discovery meetings, deepen market expertise, surpass pipeline goals, mentor new hires, and contribute significantly to Zip's growth.
