Job description
Role Overview
This position calls for a senior technical leader responsible for architecting and developing scalable microservices using the latest Java technologies, coupled with mentoring capabilities and cross-functional collaboration to drive enterprise-scale projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of scalable microservices leveraging Java 21 and Spring Boot frameworks.
- Develop and integrate secure APIs by implementing OAuth2 and JWT standards and architect event-driven systems with Apache Kafka.
- Manage and strategize data persistence across MySQL relational databases and Redis caching systems to ensure optimal performance and robustness.
- Oversee cloud infrastructure deployment and monitoring within AWS environments including EC2, S3, and RDS; uphold continuous integration and delivery practices.
- Provide technical leadership by conducting thorough code reviews, setting engineering best practices, and coaching junior to mid-level developers.
- Collaborate actively with Product Owners and Engineering Managers to translate business requirements into technical plans and sprint backlogs.
Preferred Candidate Attributes
- Expertise in Core and Functional Java programming with experience using Java 21.
- Strong background in Spring Security, Spring Cloud, and RESTful API development.
- Proven experience leading Java backend development projects, minimum 5 years.
- Experience working on large-scale enterprise projects similar to Emrysys is a notable advantage.
- Familiar with version control and agile project tracking tools such as Bitbucket, Git, and JIRA.
- Academic credentials include Bachelor's or Master's degrees in Computer Science or related engineering disciplines.
- Exemplary leadership qualities including ownership mindset, stakeholder engagement, and mentoring orientation.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a sizable engineering team (~48 members) in an agile environment.
- Additional highly regarded skills include Docker, Kubernetes container orchestration, MongoDB databases, and monitoring tools such as the ELK Stack and Prometheus.
