Role Overview

The Senior Data Scientist in Yield Optimization will lead the development of sophisticated data science models, enhancing Verve's portfolio which includes Demand Shaping, Floor Optimization, and Bid Optimization strategies. This hands-on leadership role involves managing complex projects, solving intricate technical challenges, and driving innovation in model design and system scalability.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture and implementation of complex, large-scale data science systems and predictive models.
• Promote technical excellence across Yield Optimization products including areas like Demand Shaping and real-time bid adjustment.
• Advocate for adoption of new technologies and methodologies to keep Verve competitive in AdTech.
• Manage and execute broad initiatives with multiple dependencies, involving cross-team collaboration.
• Design customized solutions to address challenging technical issues independently.
• Create scalable, maintainable systems for processing large datasets and serving models in real time.
• Make decisions on architectural trade-offs balancing business objectives and technical debt.
• Serve as a mentor and technical guide to data scientists and engineers across teams.
• Enhance team tools, methodologies, and documentation to raise overall technical capability.
• Work closely with Product Management and Backend Engineering to align technical roadmaps with long-term business strategies.
• Maintain direct involvement in coding critical model components, performing advanced statistical analyses, and crafting robust A/B testing protocols.

Required Qualifications and Expertise

• At least 5 years of professional experience in Data Science or Machine Learning with impactful project delivery.
• Strong background in AdTech, particularly programmatic auctions, supply-demand matching, and real-time bidding optimization.
• Expert proficiency in Python and SQL programming languages.
• Extensive experience with ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn, applied at production scale.
• Solid familiarity with Big Data technologies and cloud platforms such as PySpark and Google Cloud Vertex AI.
• Proven expertise designing and managing large distributed systems and real-time machine learning pipelines.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively influence diverse technical and business stakeholders.
• Adept at navigating complex team dynamics to align around technical vision and architecture standards.
• Advanced academic degree preferred (Master's or PhD) in quantitative disciplines like Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or Physics.
