Role Overview

As a Senior Data Scientist with Future Secure AI, you will lead the innovation and deployment of sophisticated agentic AI co-workers powered by large language models (LLMs). Your primary responsibility will be to architect advanced autonomous workflows capable of multi-step reasoning, planning, and reliable decision-making at scale. You will influence platform technical direction, mentor junior scientists, and ensure that our AI solutions perform robustly and safely in complex real-world settings.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement LLM-driven agentic systems featuring tool utilization, workflow orchestration, and reasoning capabilities.
• Apply machine learning techniques and advanced analytics to enhance autonomous AI co-worker decision-making.
• Improve multi-step reasoning, context handling, and agent efficacy within enterprise scenarios.
• Lead machine learning operations (MLOps) related to system evaluation, benchmarking, safety, and quality assurance.
• Establish strategic direction for agentic AI frameworks, governance policies, and deployment scalability.
• Collaborate with engineering, product management, and executives to deliver production-grade AI ai co-workers serving global clients.
• Provide mentorship to junior data scientists, raising standards of scientific rigour and technical excellence.

Candidate Profile

• Holds a Master’s or PhD in a quantitative discipline.
• Experience or willingness to learn software development, particularly with TypeScript.
• Proven ability to deliver impactful machine learning solutions in complex environments.
• Solid understanding of NLP techniques including transformers, LSTMs, CNNs, topic modeling, and supervised NLP.
• Practical experience with LLM orchestration tools such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), multi-agent systems, or tool-calling architectures.
• Proficient in Python for ML/AI tasks alongside familiarity with other programming languages.
• Capable of conveying complex technical ideas clearly to influence diverse stakeholders.
• Exemplifies curiosity, humility, ownership, and thrives in fast-paced, evolving workplaces.
• Available to work onsite 1–2 days per week at the Sydney CBD office.
