IT Security Engineer

Overview

The IT Security Engineer role involves designing, implementing, and enforcing security policies to safeguard the organization's computing infrastructure against cyber threats. The professional will offer advanced cybersecurity solutions and assist in developing strategies to prevent network breaches.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical support leveraging over seven years of experience.
• Configure, administer, and troubleshoot firewalls, specifically Fortinet devices.
• Manage Web Application Firewalls (WAF), such as Forti WAF, to protect web applications from cyber attacks.
• Oversee enterprise antivirus and endpoint security solutions.
• Maintain and operate email security gateways like FortiMail.
• Implement and support Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) frameworks.
• Deploy and integrate Network Access Control (NAC) systems.
• Administer centralized authentication platforms including TACACS+ and RADIUS.
• Possess deep knowledge of intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDS/IPS).
• Conduct security audits, vulnerability assessments, and produce compliance reports.
• Manage cloud networking services such as VPN gateways, virtual network peering, and cloud-based firewalls.
• Prepare and maintain detailed technical documentation, including architecture diagrams and operational guidelines.
• Hold professional certifications like the Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) in Security as well as Fortinet NSE certifications at levels 5, 6, 7, or higher.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline is required.
• A minimum of seven years of relevant professional experience in technical support and IT security roles.
