Overview

A globally recognized semiconductor leader is seeking a skilled Graphics Software Engineer specializing in tool development to join their GPU Software team based in Cork, Ireland. This position focuses on creating next-generation GPU development tools that support advanced graphics, gaming, ray tracing, machine learning, and sophisticated image processing. It offers a distinctive opportunity to influence how developers optimize for industry-leading mobile and edge GPU hardware while gaining early insight into forthcoming device architectures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and design new features for profiling, debugging, and performance analysis tools.
  • Collaborate intensively with both GPU hardware and software teams to validate performance and analyse results.
  • Resolve complex technical issues, enhance user experience, and liaise directly with developer communities, partners, and OEMs.
  • Participate in full-stack development, spanning user interface creation to low-level graphics driver instrumentation.
  • Drive optimisation strategies for GPU usage, acquiring early exposure to the architecture of next-generation hardware.

Mandatory Qualifications

  • At least two years of professional experience in software engineering.
  • Proficient programming skills in C or C++, or proven ability in tool/application development using C#, Rust, or Go.
  • Strong understanding of GPU hardware and essential graphics principles.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience developing graphics applications with Vulkan, DirectX, Metal, OpenGL, or WebGL.
  • Practical work with game engines such as Unity or Unreal Engine.
  • Development of GPU compute applications using OpenCL, CUDA, or SYCL.
  • Skill in debugging, profiling, and performance tuning of real-time graphics or compute workloads.
  • Awareness of current graphics innovation like ray tracing, mesh shading, or work graphs.
  • Knowledge in image and video processing, data parallelism, or machine learning algorithms.
  • Familiarity with standard graphics profiling and debugging tools such as Nsight, PIX, GPUPerfAPI, or RenderDoc.
