Job description
Overview
Clintar Commercial Outdoor Services is actively seeking dependable and safety-conscious Traffic Control Workers to assist with roadwork and construction operations throughout Newfoundland and Labrador. The role centers on managing traffic flow securely and efficiently to safeguard workers, drivers, and pedestrians within active work sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate stop/slow paddles, hand gestures, and radios to direct traffic safely.
- Install and remove traffic control devices such as cones, signs, and barricades following provincial guidelines.
- Ensure smooth and secure traffic passage through construction zones and hazard areas.
- Relay information clearly to team members and supervisors to coordinate traffic movements.
- Observe site conditions and modify control plans as necessary.
- Comply with Occupational Health and Safety regulations and provincial standards.
- Promptly report any incidents, near misses, or unsafe circumstances.
Candidate Requirements
- Possession of a valid Traffic Control Person (TCP) certification recognized by Newfoundland and Labrador authorities.
- Familiarity with regional traffic laws and safety protocols.
- Capacity to stay alert and attentive amid high traffic volumes.
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate as a team member.
- Physical ability to stand for long periods and operate in diverse weather conditions.
- May require reliable transport to various job sites.
Working Conditions
- Work outdoors across all typical weather conditions found in Newfoundland and Labrador.
- Shift rotations involving early mornings, evenings, and weekend hours.
- Fast-paced environment with proximity to moving vehicles and construction operations.
