Senior Verification Engineer

Overview

Within Arm's Solution Engineering division, this role focuses on developing and confirming the functionality of IPs used in SoC projects, involving both Arm's own and third-party components. The Senior Verification Engineer will specifically verify RTL implementing new features in Arm-based SoCs to ensure that both new additions and existing functionalities comply with architectural designs and quality norms.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with RTL designers and architects to fully grasp specifications and microarchitectural details.
• Create and enhance validation environments, including stimulus generation, checking mechanisms, and coverage tools.
• Develop and execute comprehensive verification and test plans.
• Collaborate with fellow verification engineers to formulate and apply verification strategies.
• Lead efforts to achieve functional and code coverage targets.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to design and verification processes.
• Contribute towards improving verification methodologies, infrastructures, and protocols continuously.
• Provide guidance and technical support to junior engineers.

Required Skills and Experience

• Over five years of experience in verifying IPs, subsystems, or complete SoCs.
• Expertise in SystemVerilog and Verilog languages.
• Proficient with UVM or other standard verification methodologies.
• Experience in building constrained-random verification environments and reusable verification modules.
• Ability to design verification strategies and test protocols.
• Understanding SoC verification processes inclusive of software-involved flows.
• Familiarity with scripting languages like Python or Perl.
• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills, especially in distributed team environments.

Desirable Skills and Experience

• Experience working with Arm-related designs or system architectures.
• Knowledge of AMBA protocols including CHI, AXI, AHB, and APB.
• Exposure to debug infrastructures like JTAG, SWD, or TAP.
• Experience in clock domain crossing, reset domain crossing, and power-aware verification techniques.
• Familiarity with low-power design approaches and UPF/CPF methodologies.
• Knowledge of DFT concepts such as scan testing and MBIST.

Salary

Annual salary ranges between £73,500 and £99,500.
