Overview
Join Infineon's Research & Development team as a Principal Engineer in Digital Design, where your ingenuity can help revolutionize connectivity, energy solutions, and technology innovations. This role offers the chance to spearhead advanced projects and shape cutting-edge automotive microcontroller technologies with an emphasis on safety and scalability.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the architectural and conceptual development, design, and RTL implementation of intricate digital and mixed-signal blocks tailored for automotive microcontroller intellectual properties.
- Perform thorough performance analysis of digital blocks across diverse operational conditions and corner cases.
- Be responsible for microarchitecture design, detailed specifications, and ongoing maintenance efforts.
- Conduct synthesis, static timing analysis, and fine-tune power, area, and performance balances working closely with the physical design team.
- Guarantee compliance of designs with automotive safety standards such as ISO 26262, introducing safety mechanisms as needed.
- Proactively identify and resolve design, timing, and functionality risks or problems.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams including System Architects, Software Engineers, and Validation groups to ensure smooth integration of products.
Candidate Profile
- Degree holders in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical fields at bachelor's or master's level.
- At least eight years' experience focusing on digital design for automotive applications, safety-critical systems, and power management.
- Expert proficiency in RTL coding languages such as System Verilog, Verilog, and VHDL with solid grounding in synthesis and static timing analysis techniques.
- Hands-on experience using debug tools, simulation/emulation practices, and balancing power, performance, and area requirements.
- Mandatory knowledge of automotive safety standards ISO 26262, with advantageous experience in implementing safety-related mechanisms.
- Familiarity with low-power design methodologies and Design for Test (DFT) techniques.
- Fluency in English is essential for communication.
