Role Overview

The Panel Beater is responsible for daily vehicle body repairs, including damage assessment, frame straightening, panel repair or replacement, and preparing surfaces for painting. Key duties involve dismantling and reassembling vehicle parts, employing welding and metalworking equipment, and ensuring repairs comply with safety and quality benchmarks. Coordination with painters and other staff to align repair schedules, upkeep of a safe and orderly workshop, and adherence to company and industry protocols are essential. This full-time position requires on-site presence in Auckland, dependable attendance, and the ability to meet deadlines with consistent high-quality work.

Qualifications and Experience

• Skilled in fundamental panel beating tasks such as dent removal, panel replacement, metal shaping, and body alignment.
• Experienced in utilizing workshop tools like welders, grinders, sanders, and precision measuring devices.
• Knowledgeable in automotive body structures, repair techniques, and safety requirements across diverse vehicle types.
• Able to interpret job cards, repair instructions, and technical guidelines with keen attention to detail.
• Dedicated to health and safety standards and maintaining a clean, organized workspace.
• Effective communicator capable of working well within a team-oriented workshop environment.
• Possesses relevant trade qualifications or apprenticeship credentials in panel beating or automotive body repair (preferred).
• Previous employment in automotive repair, collision repair, or panel beating workshops is highly regarded.
• Holds a valid driver's license and can maneuver and test vehicles as needed.
