About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Observability Engineer with over three years of expertise in ELK Stack, AWS monitoring, Python programming, and Linux environments to develop and maintain enterprise-wide observability platforms. The position involves building telemetry data pipelines, establishing monitoring and alerting systems, automating processes, and enhancing application as well as infrastructure reliability.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or closely related disciplines.
- Minimum of 3 years hands-on experience managing ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana), including cluster management, log ingestion, parsing with Regex/Grok, filtering, and enriching log data.
- Proficiency in AWS monitoring tools and related services.
- Strong skills in Python scripting and Linux operating systems.
- Comprehensive understanding of observability concepts, monitoring techniques, alerting methods, and automation workflows.
- Experience working with REST APIs and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes.
Preferred Additional Expertise
- Familiarity with monitoring solutions like Grafana, Dynatrace, SolarWinds, or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of OpenTelemetry (OTEL) frameworks.
- Exposure to AI/ML technologies, anomaly detection, large language models, or retrieval-augmented generation.
- Relevant certifications such as Elastic or AWS Cloud Operations are advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and improve enterprise observability systems, emphasizing ELK Stack and AWS monitoring tools.
- Design, develop, and maintain comprehensive telemetry pipelines covering log ingestion, data parsing, enrichment, and integration of logs, metrics, traces, and event data.
- Create dashboards, visual reports, alerts, and monitoring solutions to support infrastructure, applications, and operational teams.
- Collaborate with multiple stakeholders to outline observability needs, establish standards, and promote adoption and maturity of observability practices across teams.
- Provide expert technical assistance on observability tools including incident coordination, issue resolution, and performance tuning.
- Work closely with application, infrastructure, security, and operations groups to discuss requirements, implementations, and ongoing operation of observability solutions.
- Engage with vendors to clarify needs, propose solutions, and validate deployments.
- Handle audit and risk assessment activities associated with regulatory bodies and third-party auditors such as MAS, group audit, and compliance teams.
- Maintain and update documentation including knowledge bases, standard operating procedures, and best practice guidelines for observability tools and processes.
