Job Overview

The Meat Cutter will actively contribute to preparing top-quality meat products for retail distribution, strictly adhering to all Food Safety standards and providing excellent customer and supplier service. The role requires alignment with Farm Boy's operational values and quality practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure all company policies and procedures relevant to Central Meat Production operations are fully implemented and followed.
• Perform cleaning and sanitation duties rigorously according to Government regulations and Farm Boy protocols.
• Comply with Health & Safety standards to maintain workplace efficiency, safety, and hygienic food handling.
• Support a collaborative team environment by assisting colleagues as needed.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives within the Central Meat Production facility.
• Carry out the production of fresh meat items, including cutting and trimming tasks.
• Take part in distributing products to retail locations.
• Provide management support through inventory checks, packaging orders, and other operational tasks as assigned.
• Perform other related duties periodically as requested.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Completion of a relevant post-secondary program coupled with at least 3 years of experience in a high-volume meat cutting or production environment, or equivalent education and experience.
• Exceptional standards regarding sanitation, cleanliness, and food safety practices.
• Strong organizational skills, effective time management, and clear communication abilities.
• A team-focused attitude towards completing assignments.
• Attention to detail in executing daily duties.
• Ability to adhere strictly to company policies and work independently with minimal supervision.
• A dependable and positive approach with a proven commitment to the role.
• Sound judgement to make decisions and implement initiatives efficiently.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts including afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Working and Sensory Conditions

• Mandatory use of protective clothing and equipment during work hours.
• Handling work under pressures of multiple deadlines without control over pacing.
• Capability to work in cold storage environments ranging from 2 to 4 degrees Celsius.
• Physical demands may include lifting and carrying heavy items.
• Extended standing throughout shifts may be required.
