Role Overview
The Junior Maintenance Technician will support senior technicians in performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, servicing, troubleshooting, and repair activities on equipment, vehicles, and plant machinery managed by dnata Technical Services Workshops. The role also encompasses maintaining work area cleanliness and completing miscellaneous assigned duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain workshop and work area cleanliness and ensure proper care of tools.
- Assist in diagnosing and repairing faults on equipment, vehicles, and plant to minimize downtime.
- Document all maintenance work performed during shifts accurately in logs and maintenance management systems.
- Adhere to safety protocols to avoid injuries and damage during maintenance tasks.
- Notify senior technicians about spare parts and tools required for timely maintenance completion.
- Help execute scheduled maintenance adhering to manufacturer's recommendations, ISO standards, safety, regulatory, and legal compliance to ensure equipment reliability and efficiency.
- Support daily operational inspections of equipment, vehicles, and plants for safety and reliability to plan corrective actions and prevent operational incidents.
- Carry out ULD repairs and assembly as per approved procedures, manufacturer guidance, and aviation regulatory standards (EASA/GCAA).
- Assist in the maintenance and repair of facility equipment including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, GPU, PCA, and generators.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Completion of a 2-year trade certificate course in an engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years maintenance experience in facilities, automotive, electrical, civil, or mechanical fields within a large maintenance organization, preferably in aviation ground support or cargo handling industries.
Preferred Additional Skills and Certifications
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, electronic, automobile, air-conditioning, and refrigeration systems related to light vehicles or material handling equipment.
- Experience with ground support equipment or heavy vehicle maintenance is advantageous.
- Training in hydraulics, lifting equipment, conveyor systems, material handling equipment, PLCs, AC/DC motor control, traction batteries, and chargers is beneficial.
- Proficient English communication skills, both verbal and written.
- UAE or home country driving license (not mandatory in cargo areas).
- Valid operating license for equipment (ADP) if applicable (not mandatory in cargo areas).
