Ground Support Safety Operator

Role Summary

The Ground Support Safety Operator is responsible for providing essential safety support on roads during the testing and operation of autonomous vehicles. This role requires driving assigned safety vehicles along specific routes to help ensure the protection of pedestrians, surrounding vehicles, and the autonomous vehicles themselves during various operational activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate safety and support vehicles along assigned operational routes.
• Deliver on-ground safety assistance throughout autonomous vehicle operations.
• Maintain vigilance over road conditions, pedestrians, nearby vehicles, and other potential safety hazards.
• Assist in testing updates related to hardware and software systems.
• Support routine road-testing and operational driving of autonomous vehicles.
• Participate in special experience sessions and events involving VIP guests.
• Provide support during operational and cloud-cabin testing scenarios.
• Relay information regarding hazards or operational concerns to appropriate teams promptly.
• Adapt to changing traffic and road environments and respond accordingly.
• Adhere strictly to safe driving practices and comply with all operational guidelines.

Candidate Requirements

• Must hold a valid UAE driving license.
• Have a clean driving record with a solid understanding of road safety principles.
• Previous experience in roles such as professional driving, fleet management, transportation, or automotive testing is advantage.
• Exhibit strong situational awareness and attention to detail.
• Good verbal communication skills to coordinate with teams effectively.
• Ability to accurately follow predetermined routes and operational instructions.
• Commitment to safety, reliability, and confidence working in live road environments.
