Delivery Driver

Job Overview

This position involves delivering pizzas and related products while also performing various store team duties to ensure smooth operations. Training and orientation are provided on the job to help new team members understand their roles and responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate store equipment safely and efficiently.
• Stock ingredients appropriately from deliveries to storage areas including the walk-in cooler.
• Prepare food products as per standards.
• Answer and process telephone orders accurately.
• Manage inventory and complete required documentation.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment and store facilities daily.
• Deliver pizzas and beverages by vehicle and hand-deliver to customers' doors, including distribution of flyers and door hangers.

Required Skills and Abilities

• Basic arithmetic skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, with or without a calculator.
• Ability to provide correct monetary change.
• Effective verbal and telephone communication skills for order taking and interaction with customers and coworkers.
• Manual dexterity for using computers or touch screens to enter orders and handle pizza-making tools like cutters and peels.
• Strong eye-hand coordination for rapid and precise manual tasks.
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record meeting company standards.
• Access to a reliable, insured vehicle for delivery purposes.
• Navigational skills for reading maps and locating delivery addresses within the designated area.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

• Exposure to various weather conditions while delivering and handling outside tasks.
• Working temperatures inside the store can range from 36°F in coolers to above 90°F in some areas.
• Exposure to food odors, cornmeal dust, and hot surfaces up to 500°F or higher.
• Tasks require standing primarily, with walking short distances and occasional climbing of stairs or ladders.
• Physical exertion includes lifting cases up to 50 pounds, carrying items up to 30 pounds, pushing dollies with trays, and frequent bending, stooping, crouching, and reaching.
• Ability to distinguish hot and cold surfaces, hear telephone communications, and use near and mid-range vision effectively.
• Delivery requires carrying product, driving within assigned areas, walking between the store, vehicle, and customer premises, sometimes including climbing multiple flights of stairs.
