Cloud Solution Architect

About the Role

We are looking for a seasoned Cloud Solution Architect with a strong combination of technical expertise and strategic insight to develop and implement secure, scalable, resilient, and cost-effective cloud solutions. This senior position involves close collaboration with stakeholders across business, infrastructure, software engineering, security, DevOps, and leadership teams to convert business needs into advanced cloud architecture solutions that support digital transformation and long-term technological goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Design comprehensive cloud architectures that align with business objectives, technical standards, and enterprise guidelines.
• Develop scalable, highly available, secure cloud solutions spanning applications, infrastructure, data, and integrations.
• Assess and recommend cloud platforms, services, and architecture patterns suitable for organizational needs.
• Implement architectures in AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or other cloud environments.
• Lead initiatives focused on cloud migration, modernization, and infrastructure optimization.
• Create and maintain architecture diagrams, technical blueprints, standards, and documentation.
• Architect cloud-native applications utilizing microservices, containers, serverless tech, APIs, and event-driven designs.
• Collaborate throughout the solution lifecycle with engineering, DevOps, infrastructure, data, cybersecurity, and operations teams.
• Define strategies for cloud integrations including applications, databases, APIs, and third-party systems.
• Ensure solutions meet stringent security, compliance, governance, availability, performance, and disaster recovery demands.
• Establish security controls including identity and access management, network architecture, encryption, monitoring, and logging.
• Identify and implement optimizations for cloud infrastructure performance and cost efficiency.
• Support infrastructure-as-code and automated deployments using tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Provide technical leadership during development, testing, deployment, and production stages.
• Review designs and advise on architecture to engineering and project teams.
• Identify risks, constraints, dependencies, and architectural shortfalls, proposing mitigation strategies.
• Develop cloud technology roadmaps supporting long-term modernization objectives.
• Research and recommend emerging cloud technologies that add business and operational value.
• Mentor engineers and developers on cloud best practices and architectural principles.
• Present architectural proposals and decisions to senior management, technical leaders, and business stakeholders.

Qualifications and Skills

• Demonstrated experience in cloud, solution, enterprise architecture, or related technical fields.
• Hands-on expertise designing and implementing enterprise-level cloud solutions.
• Deep knowledge of at least one leading cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
• Familiarity with multi-cloud, hybrid cloud, and cloud migration architectures.
• Strong understanding of networking, compute, storage, databases, identity management, security, and overall cloud infrastructure.
• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), CI/CD, and DevOps practices.
• Expertise in microservices architectures, APIs, serverless computing, event-driven systems, and distributed systems architecture.
• Advantageous: experience designing cloud data platforms, analytics environments, application platforms, or enterprise integrations.
• Solid knowledge of cloud security, governance, compliance, disaster recovery, and business continuity principles.
• Understanding of cloud cost controls, resource optimization, and FinOps methodologies is preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and architectural design capabilities.
• Excellent communication skills, able to convey complex technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
• Experience working within Agile, Scrum, DevOps, or hybrid delivery frameworks.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related disciplines preferred.
• Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Google Cloud Professional Architect, or TOGAF are valuable.
