Role Overview
We are expanding our Sales team and seek a commercially astute Business Development Executive. This role focuses on identifying new markets and clients, nurturing relationships, and expanding Retail Insight's global footprint. Responsibilities include market research, maintaining an active sales pipeline, engaging senior decision-makers, and collaborating with internal teams to convert opportunities into sustained partnerships. Representing the company at conferences and industry events is also a key aspect.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct market and sector research to uncover new business prospects.
- Stay informed on retail, CPG, data, and technology trends and competitor activities.
- Maintain and develop a robust pipeline of potential customers and commercial prospects.
- Engage with senior stakeholders using various outreach methods.
- Build relationships, understand client challenges, and tailor solutions accordingly.
- Support meetings, presentations, proposal development, and commercial negotiations.
- Collaborate with Sales and Marketing teams to nurture opportunities and lead generation.
- Ensure accurate and up-to-date data management within the CRM system HubSpot.
- Identify strategic partnerships that could create additional revenue streams.
- Represent Retail Insight at pertinent industry events and track performance against goals.
- Occasional international travel for client meetings and events is expected.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum of one year experience in business development, sales, or account growth roles.
- Ability to confidently build and maintain relationships with stakeholders at various levels.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proactive in discovering opportunities, initiating conversations, and diligent follow-up.
- Strong commercial insight and an interest in understanding customer needs.
- Research and analytical competency to extract actionable commercial insights.
- Capability to manage multiple prospects and deadlines effectively.
- Experience with CRM platforms, specifically for maintaining sales pipeline data.
- Interest in leveraging data, digital tools, and artificial intelligence to enhance productivity and decision-making.
- Collaborative mindset with accountable ownership of tasks.
- Willingness to travel internationally when necessary.
- Fluent in a European language.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within retail, CPG, technology, data analytics, or SaaS industries.
- Proficiency using HubSpot or similar CRM software.
- International business development experience or exposure to multiple markets.
- Background supporting proposals, presentations, or commercial negotiations.
- A bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related disciplines.
