About the Internship
This internship offers hands-on involvement in medical device product development at a startup originating from IIT Bombay, focused on enhancing early screening and diagnosis for heart and lung diseases using advanced technologies.
Responsibilities
- Create and update 3D CAD models, assemblies, and 2D engineering drawings.
- Maintain and prepare Bills of Materials (BOMs) along with engineering documentation.
- Support request for quotations (RFQs), gather vendor quotes, conduct cost analyses, and follow up with suppliers.
- Liaise with vendors regarding material stocks, quality assurance, and delivery deadlines.
- Assist in selecting materials and components in line with project and engineering needs.
- Engage in prototype creation, testing, and validation processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, procurement, manufacturing, and quality assurance during product development.
- Learn and implement principles of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).
- Contribute to improvements and problem-solving within design, procurement, and manufacturing functions.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be final-year students or recent graduates in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, production engineering, or related disciplines.
- Should possess a fundamental understanding of mechanical design and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with 3D CAD software and engineering drawings is advantageous.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and communication skills are essential.
- Interest in product development, especially within medical device or engineering domains.
- Ability to excel in a dynamic startup environment and coordinate effectively with vendors and multidisciplinary teams.
- Available for full-time, on-site engagement starting between August 28 and October 2, 2026, for a duration of six months.

Compensation and Perks
