The Lending Engineering Team

This Singapore-based team focuses on creating a cutting-edge lending platform that allows enterprise clients to offer advanced credit products via Airwallex’s infrastructure. Members of this team contribute to architectural decisions and scaling strategies for our embedded lending solutions.

Job Responsibilities

• Architect, implement, and sustain resilient services related to lending, with emphasis on credit products.
• Develop secure and scalable APIs that integrate our credit offerings seamlessly for client consumption.
• Lead technical design discussions, mentor engineering colleagues, and enforce high coding and architectural standards.
• Advocate for design principles that ensure platform reliability, distributability, and performance at enterprise scale.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver effective financial solutions.
• Establish strong automated testing, code review, and monitoring protocols to maintain platform stability and security.
• Continuously update knowledge of industry trends and drive enhancements to platform architecture and engineering practices.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, engineering, or related technical fields.
• Minimum seven years of practical software engineering experience with exposure to modern development practices.
• At least two years in a leadership position mentoring engineers and shaping engineering strategies.
• Solid foundation in computer science, object-oriented programming, with backend systems development experience; familiarity mainly with Java/Kotlin and Spring Boot frameworks.
• Strong background in designing and developing RESTful APIs compliant with modern design conventions.
• Experience applying domain-driven design and event-driven architectures in real-world settings.
• Proven ability to build and maintain high-performance, scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems.
• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform, or alternatively AWS, including containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of observability tools such as Splunk, Grafana, and Prometheus.

Additional Preferred Skills

• Background in financial services, especially in lending, payments, or credit product domains.
• Experience with software as a service (SaaS) platform products.
