About Ripple and the Role

As part of Ripple Treasury's Cash Forecasting team in Dublin, you'll contribute to an AI-enhanced treasury platform that helps CFOs and treasury departments replace error-prone spreadsheets with accurate, real-time cash visibility and prediction capabilities. This critical platform manages over $100 billion in daily cash flow across 40+ countries, integrating with multiple ERP and banking systems and powered by advanced machine learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead architectural choices that balance scalability, maintainability, and quick deployment.
- Define and promote technical standards and design patterns to accelerate feature delivery and reduce defects.
- Conduct technical design reviews and mentor engineers towards technical leadership roles.
- Break down complex problems for effective team distribution and manage elimination of technical debt.
- Advocate best engineering practices including observability, incident response, continuous integration, and delivery improvements.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product and Customer Success teams, and coordinate with distributed teams globally to align on technical paths.
- Drive system scalability foresight and adoption of emerging technologies.
- Own key systems end-to-end including design, production support, documentation, and reliability.
- Develop and maintain API integrations with major ERPs (SAP, Oracle, Workday) and banking infrastructure.
- Implement and refine machine learning models and variance analysis tools to enhance forecasting accuracy.
- Design adaptable worksheet engines for flexible cash flow modeling and reporting.
- Optimize backend performance to handle billions in transactions with real-time dashboard capabilities.
- Create interactive analytics dashboards and automated alerting for compliance and variance detection.
Experience and Skills Required
- At least 8 years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years on large-scale, critical systems.
- Proven ownership of production systems, handling incidents and leading impactful architecture decisions.
- Strong leadership in mentoring engineers and establishing team-wide technical approaches.
- Expertise with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, containerization using Docker, and orchestration via Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, observability tools, and microservices architectures.
- Deep understanding of distributed system design, event-driven patterns, multi-tenancy, RBAC, audit/compliance needs, API versioning, and feature flagging.
- Advanced proficiency in Ruby on Rails development, RDBMS (especially PostgreSQL) performance optimization, REST API design, and front-end technologies such as React, TypeScript, and JavaScript.
- Preferred: Financial domain knowledge including cash management, banking operations, multi-currency complexities, and financial compliance (SOC 2, data privacy).
