Through strategic collaborations with industry leaders like Unilever and Mastercard, it supports thousands of informal retailers by digitizing supply chains across Ghana, Nigeria, and South Africa.
Role Overview
As a Software Support Engineer, you'll act as the essential connection between the engineering team and operational units across Africa. Your responsibilities will include troubleshooting complex technical issues, implementing code enhancements using Python and SQL, and maintaining the quality assurance processes to deliver a seamless user experience to the platform's extensive network of informal retailers.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, analyze, and resolve intricate technical problems by investigating root causes within the codebase and promoting best practices among distributed teams.
- Develop and deploy production-grade code fixes and improvements employing Python (Flask) and PostgreSQL to enhance customer experience.
- Manage and improve the QA and testing pipeline by creating automated test suites aimed at preventing regressions and ensuring platform reliability.
Candidate Profile
- Possesses 2 to 3 years' experience in engineering, product development, or technical support, preferably in a fast-moving startup context.
- Exhibits intermediate skills in Python (Flask) and SQL (PostgreSQL), coupled with an eagerness to explore backend code and AWS infrastructure.
- Demonstrates excellent communication abilities to effectively bridge technical requirements and non-technical stakeholders across multiple cultures and time zones.
