Role Overview

The Maintenance Assistant will assist the maintenance team by performing varied upkeep activities spanning electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general building maintenance duties. This work ensures that facilities operate smoothly, helping to enhance guest comfort and workplace functionality.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform regular inspections and maintenance of facilities, equipment, and systems to ensure optimal function.
• Conduct minor repairs involving plumbing, electrical systems, carpentry, and painting as needed.
• Assist in implementing preventive maintenance procedures to minimize operational interruptions.
• Respond swiftly to maintenance requests from employees and management, especially urgent issues.
• Keep detailed records of maintenance actions, including faults, repairs, and materials utilized.
• Help enforce health and safety regulations to maintain a secure work environment.
• Liaise with external contractors when required, overseeing their work to ensure high standards and punctual completion.
• Support event operations by setting up or dismantling equipment and furniture.

Qualifications and Experience

• Previous work experience in maintenance or assistant maintenance roles, ideally in hospitality, catering, or engineering contexts.
• Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, heating, and general facility maintenance.
• Practical ability to safely use hand and power tools.
• Strong problem-solving aptitude with capability to work alone or collaboratively.
• Effective communicator with a polite and approachable demeanor.
• Familiarity with health and safety standards relevant to maintenance work.
• Willingness to address urgent maintenance issues outside typical working hours when necessary.
• Certifications or vocational training in maintenance, engineering, or allied trades are advantageous.
