Role Overview
This position goes beyond typical financial reporting responsibilities. Reporting directly to the Group Finance Director, you will collaborate closely with agency management and the broader finance team to deliver meaningful financial insights, analysis, and operational support that facilitate effective business management.
As Financial Controller, you will be central to managing financial operations across Publicis Media New Zealand. This role demands hands-on involvement, coordination with the Finance Director and finance personnel, ensuring precise reporting, robust financial controls, and dependable financial assistance.
Core Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of month-end reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial submissions.
- Maintain stringent financial controls ensuring compliance and audit readiness.
- Supervise daily finance team activities and foster team development.
- Deliver financial reporting, analysis, and operational support to agency leaders.
- Support client teams with financial oversight, profitability evaluations, and contract compliance monitoring.
- Lead initiatives to enhance processes and boost operational efficiency.
- Manage financial risks and promote sustainable business performance.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Experienced Finance Controller, Finance Manager, or in a comparable finance leadership capacity.
- Demonstrated proficiency in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Background in people management with enthusiasm for team coaching and mentorship.
- Strong analytical abilities coupled with problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational aptitude and stakeholder relationship management.
- Familiarity with financial systems and reporting tools; high competence in Excel is valued.
