Engineer II - Mechanical/Civil Engineering

Overview

The Engineer II position involves developing and implementing comprehensive engineering solutions tailored to heavy lifting and transportation projects. This role demands preparing detailed technical documentation, choosing optimal engineering methods and equipment, and ensuring safe, effective project delivery through collaboration with diverse teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish specialized knowledge in delivering superior engineering solutions for heavy lifting and transportation endeavors.
• Create and present intricate engineering deliverables such as method statements, technical drawings, engineering calculations, and risk analyses.
• Independently determine and validate suitable engineering approaches and equipment selections to guarantee safety and efficiency during project execution.
• Support project implementation by monitoring engineering plans and adjusting methods in response to evolving conditions or needs.
• Offer expertise and mentorship to fellow engineers while overseeing the comprehensive engineering scope.
• Advise operational, sales, and project management teams regarding engineering feasibility, potential risks, and technical compromises.
• Maintain precise, standard-compliant engineering documentation that is regularly reviewed and updated.
• Conduct route assessments and compile detailed reports for heavy transport and logistics activities.
• Employ both traditional engineering methodologies and innovate new approaches as required.
• Produce detailed drawings, calculations, visual aids, manuals, and risk management evaluations.
• Strive for optimal execution that fulfills client requirements effectively.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering.

Skills and Competences

• Fluent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Quick adaptability to absorb new concepts, technologies, and processes.
• Ability to maintain resilience and focus amid shifting priorities to ensure continuous workflow.
• Strong interpersonal skills to foster and sustain effective relationships with team members, stakeholders, and external collaborators.

Experience

• At least five years of relevant engineering experience, particularly in advanced and complex engineering solutions within the heavy lifting sector.
• Proficient understanding and application of engineering operational practices, heavy lifting and transport equipment (including cranes and alternative devices), internal standards, and codes.
• Demonstrable track record in similar engineering roles.
• Skilled in AutoCAD 2D and 3D for modeling, detailed drafting, and design development.
