Role Overview and Responsibilities
We are seeking a Data Engineer to join an ongoing client project focused on developing a data pipeline utilizing SQL, Snowflake, and dbt. This is a full-time position with opportunities for long-term advancement based on your performance.
- Construct and manage data models in dbt encompassing staging, intermediate, and mart layers.
- Create and refine SQL queries to interact efficiently with Snowflake, involving complex operations such as joins, Common Table Expressions (CTEs), and window functions.
- Design and deploy dbt tests to assure data integrity and proactively detect any issues.
- Troubleshoot pipeline challenges including data freshness discrepancies, incremental load failures, and bottlenecks affecting performance.
- Work in close collaboration with senior engineers regarding architectural decisions and conduct thorough code reviews.
- Provide transparent communication about project progress, obstacles, and technical compromises.
Candidate Profile and Requirements
- Possess 1 to 4 years of practical experience working with SQL and Snowflake.
- Experience handling dbt projects including model development, test creation, and project structure optimization.
- Strong command over SQL fundamentals such as joins, CTEs, window functions, and query performance tuning.
- Capable of articulating technical reasoning clearly and justifying design decisions.
- Knowledge of Python scripting or orchestration is advantageous.
Additional Details
We prefer candidates who can commence employment immediately or within 1 to 2 weeks, as we aim to fill this vacancy promptly.
