Customer Delivery Driver - Carnforth Superstore

About the Role

As a Customer Delivery Driver for Tesco, you will be the friendly face our customers see when their orders arrive at their homes. This position involves much more than just driving; it emphasizes helping customers by providing excellent service with a positive attitude. The job is physically engaging, varied, and requires a proactive approach since you will spend much of your day working independently, supported by a dedicated team back at the store.

Your working hours will include:

• Sunday: 09:00 - 19:00
• Wednesday: 19:00 - 23:00
• Thursday: 19:00 - 23:00
• Saturday: 09:00 - 19:00

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure your van, delivery trays, and work area are clean, organized, and well-maintained to guarantee every order arrives in excellent condition.
• Load your van safely and conduct all necessary vehicle checks to confirm it is safe and reliable for delivery.
• Communicate clearly and warmly with customers regarding any order changes, substitutions, or items approaching expiration, handling refunds if needed to maintain a smooth shopping experience.
• Handle all products carefully, treating each delivery as if it were your own to maintain high quality standards and customer trust.
• Deliver orders punctually within the assigned time slots, providing friendly and attentive service to ensure customers feel appreciated and well cared for.

Candidate Requirements

• Ability to build strong relationships and work collaboratively with colleagues to foster great team spirit.
• Be warm, approachable, and welcoming to both customers and teammates.
• Have flexibility and responsiveness to adapt to changing customer needs and dynamic work conditions on the road and in-store.
• Possess a valid UK, EU, or EEA driving license (full or automatic) held for at least 12 months with no more than three penalty points.
