The Applied AI Architect will collaborate with various organizations to transform OpenAI's advanced AI models into impactful, real-world solutions. Engaging across multiple industries and digitally native companies, the team identifies opportunities for AI value creation, designs secure scalable implementations, and supports the transition from initial exploration to sustained adoption.

Role Details

Serving as a senior technical lead for a designated customer portfolio, this role acts as the primary technical liaison and strategist, essentially the 'CTO' for the customer’s AI initiatives. Responsibilities include shaping AI strategies, guiding prospects from discovery through deployment, and ensuring measurable business value via ChatGPT Enterprise, OpenAI API, Codex, and other AI tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead technical advisory and maintain long-term technical relationships with assigned customers and prospects.
• Collaborate with Account Directors on strategy while independently managing technical account plans, milestones, and growth opportunities.
• Facilitate discovery sessions with executives and tech teams to prioritize use cases linked to tangible business outcomes.
• Design comprehensive Applied AI Architectures encompassing models, data, integration, security, privacy, governance, evaluation, and deployment aspects.
• Guide customers through technical trials, prototypes, workshops, and proofs-of-value to build trust in both solutions and deployment paths.
• Maintain a prioritized use-case portfolio with clear success metrics, ownership, and adoption strategies.
• Establish trusted technical partnerships across C-suite and engineering teams.
• Coordinate expertise from deployment, implementation, training, product, and partner teams.
• Oversee technical progress and outcomes, ensuring proper execution by delivery teams.
• Monitor adoption, readiness, account health, and impact, proactively addressing risks to value realization.
• Leverage industry knowledge to identify patterns, sharpen customer priorities, and uncover expansion possibilities.
• Convey customer insights to internal product and engineering teams to enhance offerings and best practices.

Desired Qualifications

• Extensive experience in customer-facing technical roles including solutions architecture, technical account leadership, AI deployment, or customer success.
• Proven track record of guiding enterprises from technical evaluations to production adoption with measurable outcomes.
• Ability to build credibility with senior technical and business leaders and communicate effectively with engineers.
• Strong foundations in software/cloud architecture, APIs, distributed systems, data integration, security, identity, and privacy.
• Knowledge of modern AI systems, including large language models, agentic AI applications, evaluation methods, retrieval, and enterprise AI workflows.
• Competence in prototyping, explaining technical trade-offs, and fluency with APIs, SDKs, and languages like Python or JavaScript.
• Sound judgment to balance personal deep dives with specialist engagement and clear ownership assignments.
• Experience creating technical account plans, prioritizing complex portfolios, and linking adoption to business impact.
• Industry expertise or familiarity with digital-native business requirements.
• Strong communication skills to clarify ambiguity into actionable technical strategies and decisions.
• Collaborative mindset focused on responsible AI deployment.

Work Arrangement and Location

This position is located in Singapore with a hybrid work model requiring three days per week onsite. Relocation assistance is provided.
