Role Overview
The Software Engineer at RSA will play a vital role in designing, developing, configuring, deploying, and supporting storage technologies and software. This includes capacity planning, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and contributing across the software development lifecycle utilizing Agile or Waterfall approaches. The engineer will also be responsible for designing complex systems, implementing test strategies, integrating and debugging code, and maintaining comprehensive technical documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, support, and optimize storage infrastructure software with focus on capacity and performance.
- Engage in full software lifecycle: planning, designing, deploying, testing, and documentation.
- Design complex multi-tier software systems and define appropriate specifications.
- Implement and integrate code, debug defects, and oversee code quality through reviews.
- Communicate effectively with team members to maintain high standards of software quality.
- Write clear product requirement specifications and participate in design discussions.
- Drive both independent and collaborative software development activities.
Qualifications & Experience
- 3 to 6 years of professional software development experience.
- Strong command of object-oriented programming, particularly in C++.
- Extensive experience with C and C++ development in Unix/Linux environments.
- Solid understanding of Windows and Unix operating systems, data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.
- Proven skills developing large-scale, multi-tier applications and web services on Windows and Unix.
- Familiarity with TCP/IP, TLS/SSL networking protocols, security fundamentals like authentication and cryptography.
- Experience building REST clients and familiarity with security mechanisms on Windows and Unix.
- Strong knowledge of build processes and automation under Unix systems.
Additional Preferred Skills
- Experience with cloud technology platforms is an advantage.
- Understanding of security principles and practices is beneficial.
- Knowledge or interest in applying artificial intelligence in work processes is a plus.
