Role Overview

The FileMaker Developer is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining FileMaker applications aligned with client needs and industry standards. Daily tasks include requirement analysis, database and layout creation, scripting, third-party integrations, performance tuning, and collaborating with project managers and stakeholders to ensure quality delivery. The role requires thorough testing, debugging, documentation, offering ongoing support, improving development protocols, and providing technical advice to non-technical staff. This is a fully remote position based in Australia with regular virtual interactions with clients and colleagues.

Qualifications and Skills

• Extensive experience in FileMaker development encompassing database design, scripting, layout creation, and enhancing solution performance.
• Competence in integrating FileMaker applications with external systems or APIs and solid understanding of relational databases.
• Expertise in gathering client requirements and translating them into technical designs with clear workflow and application documentation.
• Strong skills in testing, debugging, and troubleshooting to ensure reliable, secure, and efficient applications.
• Excellent communication abilities to articulate technical information to various stakeholders and collaborate effectively within remote teams.
• Proven organizational and time-management capabilities to juggle multiple projects and meet deadlines autonomously.
• Experience with Australian business environments or knowledge of local practices and regulations is advantageous.
• Possession of relevant technical certifications or a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related disciplines is preferred; practical equivalent experience is also accepted.
