Job Overview
The Document Controller is responsible for the systematic management and maintenance of project documentation aligned with company and project protocols. This role ensures all project documents such as drawings, technical files, correspondence, submissions, and approvals are properly registered, monitored, and archived.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and maintain project documentation consistent with established company and project guidelines.
- Register and distribute technical documents, drawings, correspondence, submissions, and approval records while maintaining archives.
- Update and manage document registers, transmittals, revision logs, and status reports.
- Track document submissions, reviews, approvals, and any pending overdue actions.
- Guarantee that project teams have access only to the latest approved documentation.
- Collaborate with multiple project stakeholders including Engineering, Construction, QA/QC, Commercial teams, Consultants, Contractors, and Clients.
- Assist with project audits, completion of document close-outs, and preparation of final handover materials.
- Manage documentation through enterprise document management platforms such as Aconex, Procore, SharePoint, or similar systems.
Candidate Requirements
- Educational background in Business Administration, Engineering, Construction, or a related discipline at diploma or degree level.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in document control, ideally within construction, EPC, or infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and familiarity with electronic document management systems.
- Excellent organizational capabilities, meticulous attention to detail, and adeptness at handling multiple deadlines.
- Strong communication and coordination competence.
- Prior experience with multinational companies or large construction projects is advantageous.
