Customer Solution Design Engineer

We are currently seeking a motivated Customer Solution Design Engineer (MP) to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role involves supporting the sales team with technical expertise by converting customer requirements into effective KONE solutions. The engineer will be an integral part of the early engagement team, ensuring KONE's tender layouts and specifications are incorporated accurately into customer building plans.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret and organize customer drawings, identifying and raising Requests for Information (RFI) when discrepancies arise between customer submissions and KONE commitments.
• Develop layout drawings in 2D or 3D formats that comply with customer document control procedures and KONE's KOS standards.
• Collaborate with sales to identify the best technical solutions for non-standard requests, ensuring clear scope definition including coordination of KONE and potential third-party products.
• Participate in customer meetings to respond to technical inquiries.
• Select appropriate product platforms to support offering development.
• Suggest solutions encompassing all KONE product lines such as elevators, escalators, doors, and new services.
• Engage in product and service release sessions to stay informed of updates.
• Provide technical training to sales, installation, and maintenance teams according to frontline needs.
• Offer feedback to product management regarding customization, standardization, and interface needs.
• Contribute to the Customer Solutions Engineering virtual and local networks.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's or Diploma degree in Engineering.
• At least five years of experience within the elevator industry or a related engineering field.
• Fluent in both written and spoken English and Arabic languages.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and customer management capabilities.
• Knowledge of various building types and respective customer segments.
• Awareness of environmental and sustainability standards and regulations.
• Proficiency with engineering tools, especially CAD and BIM software.
• Expertise in AutoCAD, Revit 2022, and BIM360 is essential.
• Basic familiarity with competitors' products.
• Understanding of product costing structures and local regulations.
