PERSOL is a leading HR service provider in the Asia Pacific region and part of PERSOL HOLDINGS Co. Ltd (Japan). Our client, a reputable Japanese airline, seeks a Cargo Agent to join their team at Sydney International Airport in a permanent full-time role.

Role Overview

This opportunity involves working in a dynamic aviation environment where you will manage daily cargo operations, ensuring seamless freight and mail transport. This role is ideal for individuals with prior experience in cargo services, airport operations, ground handling, or the aviation sector.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage coordination of import/export cargo and mail shipments.
  • Develop load plans, ensuring aircraft weight, balance, and payload compliance.
  • Supervise ground handling teams during cargo and baggage loading/unloading, maintaining safety and efficiency.
  • Ensure adherence to airline policies, operational protocols, and aviation safety/security standards.
  • Handle investigations and resolutions of cargo tracking discrepancies, including delays, damages, loss, or missing items.
  • Monitor and manage inventory of equipment such as Unit Load Devices (ULDs).
  • Perform supplementary operational tasks as necessary.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Experience in cargo operations, airport services, ground handling, or flight operations is beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Capability to work rotating shifts from Monday to Sunday, with two days off weekly; typical shifts run 5:00 AM to 12:30 PM.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with a flexible, proactive attitude.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Possession of a current valid driver’s license is required.
