Structural Engineer

Overview

An experienced Structural Engineer is needed to deliver technical guidance and site supervision for structural works on major building projects in Qatar. The role focuses on making sure construction is carried out in line with approved designs, project specifications, quality expectations, and established construction methods, while contributing to the successful completion of complex developments.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and guide structural construction activities on site.
• Check that structural work follows approved drawings, project specifications, required standards, and scope.
• Examine structural drawings, design calculations, shop drawings, and material submissions.
• Track work progress and keep attention on quality, safety, and schedule targets.
• Liaise with consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders on structural issues.
• Visit the site, assess issues, and recommend technical solutions for construction challenges.
• Confirm compliance with reinforced concrete and structural steel construction requirements.
• Assist project teams with planning, implementation, and quality control for structural activities.
• Prepare technical notes, site reports, observations, and progress updates when needed.
• Ensure work meets local authority rules and client-specific requirements.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering is required.
• At least 10 to 15 years of relevant experience in structural engineering and construction supervision.
• Background in large building projects such as residential, accommodation, mixed-use, institutional, or similar developments.
• Strong history of completing projects of similar scale and complexity.
• Hands-on exposure to reinforced concrete and structural steel building projects.
• Solid knowledge of structural drawings, specifications, engineering standards, and construction methods.
• Prior Qatar experience is preferred; GCC experience can also be considered.
• MMUP/UPDA registration is preferred for candidates already in Qatar and mandatory where applicable.
• Knowledge of QatarEnergy requirements, major clients, consultants, and local authority regulations is beneficial.
• Strong leadership, coordination, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.

Additional Information

This position is based in Al Khor and Al Thakhira, Qatar and is a full-time onsite role.
