This role reports to the Chief Technology Officer and sits within the Global R&D organization in Singapore.

Role Overview

Pall is looking for a creative, outcome-focused R&D Director to lead Application Technology & Solution Development, with emphasis on semiconductor process technology, membrane science, and device design. The position is centered on next-generation porous filter development for semiconductor manufacturing and on supporting the growth of the microelectronics business.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct research efforts for the MicroE business to support strategic growth goals, including innovation pipeline value and funnel health.
• Guide customer trials, development activities, and commercialization work for new products and continuous improvement products by shaping device and cleaning strategies aligned to business goals.
• Provide R&D leadership across functions to create differentiated filter solutions for semiconductor fabrication applications, including wet etch and photolithography.
• Offer scientific direction in filtration, purification, and device design to solve customer challenges related to safety, compliance, and technical capability.
• Act as the main connection between Pall R&D and MicroE business leadership to identify high-value customer problems and convert them into practical R&D outputs.
• Maintain partnerships with external research and academic groups to support breakthrough innovation.
• Improve R&D methods, tools, and infrastructure by using the Danaher Business System toolkit.
• Partner with the VP R&D and MicroE BU GM to shape and execute the Asia strategy for roof-tops in Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, and Pune.

Required Skills and Knowledge

• Strong understanding of filter design, fluid dynamics, chemical and hydromechanics, electrochemistry, and advanced membrane technology.
• Solid grasp of in-line yield and wafer inspection metrology.
• Experience with analytical methods used to detect and measure very small amounts of organic and inorganic impurities linked to wafer defects.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, listening, and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex ideas clearly to people at all levels.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline is required, along with at least 10 years of relevant R&D and/or product development experience preferred.
• A master’s degree may be accepted if the candidate has substantial experience in the application area.
• Recognized as a technical authority in semiconductor process development.
• Proven success in leading global, cross-functional teams and influencing senior stakeholders, with a strong record of commercial results from high-impact technical work.
