Manager - Business Development

Overview

L&T Construction & Mining Machinery, part of the Larsen & Toubro Group, is hiring a Business Development Manager for its Nagpur, Maharashtra location. The business is a long-established engineering leader in India and has built its reputation in construction and mining equipment through advanced excavator technology and global collaboration with Komatsu-Japan, with a focus on quality, safety, and dependable performance.

Role Summary

This position is centered on techno-commercial and service support for L&T-installed crushers, apron feeders, material handling systems, and surface miner equipment used in cement and power plants. The role is based in Nagpur and includes equipment health audits, preparing and following up on techno-commercial proposals until purchase orders are secured, and supervising commissioning work at new plant sites across the region.

Key Duties

• Grow spares and service sales for the covered equipment portfolio.
• Prepare and submit techno-commercial quotations and offers.
• Encourage customers to choose original equipment manufacturer spares.
• Create and execute sales plans aligned with business goals.
• Track market movements and competitor actions.
• Deliver on sales targets and revenue expectations.
• Compile sales updates, forecasts, and reporting.
• Be prepared for extensive travel as required by the role.
• Manage service delivery, resolve complaints quickly, and keep customers satisfied.
• Provide technical training to customer teams at regular intervals.
• Ensure compliance with site safety requirements and regulations.
• Work closely with the factory and zonal office to improve sales outcomes.
• Support a collaborative team environment and maintain good coordination across the project group.

Qualifications and Experience

The role requires a B.Tech or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and 5 to 15 years of relevant experience. Candidates should have handled crusher and material conveying equipment and should bring hands-on exposure to servicing, operations and maintenance, execution, and commissioning activities. Strong familiarity with crushers, apron feeders, surface miners, and related material handling equipment, along with techno-commercial capability, is essential.

The right candidate should bring strong product and technical knowledge, the ability to build durable stakeholder relationships, strong written and verbal communication in English, Hindi, and Marathi, a confident and proactive approach, attention to detail, persistence, endurance, negotiation ability, and solid teamwork and organizational skills.
