Lathe Machine Operator

Role overview

The Lathe Machine Operator will be responsible for running and maintaining lathe equipment to produce and restore mechanical components in line with engineering specifications. The role focuses on accurate work, safe practices, and supporting efficient maintenance activity.

Key responsibilities

• Run both conventional and CNC lathe machines as required.
• Study engineering drawings and understand fits, tolerances, and specifications before starting work.
• Carry out machining tasks such as boring, drilling, reaming, threading, and tapping.
• Prepare and adjust tools, inserts, collets, and other machine attachments.
• Inspect finished and in-process parts with precision measuring tools to confirm quality.
• Look after coolant levels, lubrication, and the overall working condition of the machines.
• Work according to job orders, standard operating procedures, and safety rules.
• Support onboarding or guidance for new operators and contribute to process improvements.
• Keep the work area tidy, safe, and well organized.
• Complete additional tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications and experience

A High School Diploma, ITI trade certificate, or an equivalent technical qualification is required. Candidates should have 2 to 5 years of experience in manufacturing, beverage, bottling, FMCG, or machine shop settings.

Technical and core skills

Applicants should be comfortable operating lathe and CNC machines, reading technical drawings, understanding machining methods and materials, and working with FANUC controls. Experience using micrometers, verniers, and gauges is also expected. Strong teamwork, clear communication, problem solving, attention to detail, safety awareness, and a mindset for continuous improvement are important for success in this role.

Work environment

This is a full-time, onsite position based in Abha, Asir, Saudi Arabia.
