Junior Data Analyst

Role Overview

This is an entry-level, part-time Junior Data Analyst position in the New York City Metropolitan Area. The role follows a hybrid setup, blending in-office teamwork with the flexibility of working from home.

What You’ll Do

You will help turn raw information into usable insights by supporting data gathering, cleaning, validation, and introductory exploratory analysis. Day to day, you’ll assist with simple reporting and dashboard updates, create data summaries, and contribute to basic data modeling with guidance from senior colleagues.

You’ll also review results, document the approach used, and present findings in a clear format for internal teams. In addition, you will work with different functions across the business to support active projects and help improve processes over time.

Qualifications

• Ability to spot trends, patterns, and relationships in data through strong analytical thinking.
• Working familiarity with core analytics tools or platforms such as Excel, SQL, or business intelligence software.
• Basic knowledge of statistics, including descriptive measures and common concepts used in business analysis.
• Introductory exposure to data modeling, whether through coursework or practical learning, with an interest in structuring data for reporting and analysis.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain results to audiences without technical backgrounds.
• Careful attention to detail, good problem-solving ability, and an organized way of managing multiple tasks.
• Interest in professional services and in working across varied client or business scenarios.
• A background in a quantitative or related field such as Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Business, or Computer Science is preferred, but not mandatory.
• Open to learning, receiving feedback, and contributing effectively in a hybrid team environment.
