General Manager - Construction Projects

Overview

We are seeking an experienced General Manager to lead and enhance the delivery of our construction projects portfolio. This leadership position involves supervising project leads, elevating execution standards, managing key client relationships, and relieving the ownership team of daily operational responsibilities. This role focuses on oversight and decision-making rather than direct hands-on project execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Leadership, mentorship, and accountability for project lead teams.
• Oversight of project schedules, budgets, and quality control across all ongoing projects.
• Maintaining executive-level relationships with major clients, handling escalations, and leading negotiations.
• Managing procurement strategies and subcontractor agreements.
• Making swift and effective decisions to resolve project issues promptly.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum 10 years' experience as a General Manager within contracting or construction firms.
• Over 20 years of total experience in the construction field.
• Proven expertise running multiple concurrent teams and projects.
• Experience working with major and government clients and overseeing procurement operations.
• Fluency in both Arabic and English languages.
• Prior experience within the GCC region is a significant advantage.
• Possess an engineering or business degree; Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
• Exemplify a calm, pragmatic leadership style that commands respect through presence and sound judgment, with the ability to operate autonomously.

Work Arrangement

Flexible engagement models are offered including alternating weeks on-site in Riyadh and remote, monthly visits ranging from one to two weeks, or an agreed fixed number of days per week. Travel and accommodation expenses will be covered.

Compensation

Remuneration is negotiable and competitive, tailored to the agreed working arrangement. Options include a fixed monthly retainer, a daily rate, or a combination of base pay plus performance-based incentives.
