Firefighter

Job Summary

The Firefighter role focuses on keeping the organization prepared for fire-related incidents by putting safety procedures into action, maintaining response readiness, and supporting prevention efforts. This position also involves regular equipment upkeep and participation in drills and training.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Answer emergency incidents involving fires, rescue situations, and medical emergencies.
• Use appropriate firefighting methods, tools, and tactics to control and extinguish fires.
• Take part in rescue activities, including search-and-rescue work, and provide basic medical support where needed.
• Examine buildings and equipment to spot possible fire risks and unsafe conditions.
• Keep firefighting tools, response vehicles, and operational facilities in proper working condition.
• Join training sessions, emergency drills, and simulation exercises to stay prepared.
• Support fire prevention efforts through public awareness and outreach activities.
• Work closely with police, medical teams, and other emergency responders during incidents.

Requirements

Candidates should have SSCE or OND in a relevant field, along with certification in Fire Safety and Protection from a recognized institution. Training in fire prevention, firefighting, and controls is also required. A minimum of five years' experience in large-scale firefighting is needed, and applicants must hold a valid driver's license.
