Job Overview
This contract Data Scientist position is fully remote and focuses on contributing to the development of next-generation AI systems. The role centers on applying domain expertise to produce high-quality, real-world input that supports model training, learning, reasoning, and performance improvements. Prior hands-on experience in AI is not required; relevant subject-matter knowledge is the key requirement.
Core Responsibilities
- Gather, prepare, and transform varied datasets so they are accurate, consistent, and ready for analysis.
- Create, test, and apply statistical models that turn complex information into practical business insights.
- Perform exploratory analysis to uncover trends, recurring patterns, and areas where performance can improve.
- Translate analytical findings into clear reports and visual presentations suited for both technical teams and non-technical audiences.
- Work with cross-functional teammates to plan and deliver data projects from initial concept through final execution.
- Refine analytical approaches and automate repetitive steps to make data processes more efficient.
- Communicate insights clearly in writing and speaking so recommendations are easy to understand and act on.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Strong foundation in statistics, mathematics, and analytical methods.
- Hands-on experience working with large, complex datasets, including cleaning and preparation.
- Working knowledge of Python, R, or similar languages used for data processing and modeling.
- Ability to build and assess predictive or statistical models.
- Proficiency with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or comparable libraries.
- High attention to detail and a strong commitment to maintaining data quality.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Background
- Experience in remote, cross-functional, or customer-facing team environments.
- Exposure to building and deploying machine learning solutions in production settings.
