Data Analyst - Excel

This remote contract position is focused on data analysis with Microsoft Excel. The role supports an AI training initiative by bringing practical domain knowledge to real-world data tasks. Prior experience in artificial intelligence is not necessary; the emphasis is on strong analytical ability and relevant subject-matter expertise.

What you'll do

• Use Excel to examine datasets in depth, surface useful insights, and support decisions across different teams.
• Work with project stakeholders to clarify information needs and turn them into structured analysis.
• Check, cleanse, and verify datasets so they remain accurate, consistent, and reliable.
• Create straightforward reports and visual materials that explain findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Spot patterns, irregularities, and improvement opportunities in complex data, and use those insights to support strategy.
• Record the approach taken, the results found, and the recommendations made with careful attention to detail.
• Help strengthen data-led decision-making within the client team.

What we're looking for

• Hands-on experience analyzing business data with Microsoft Excel as the main tool.
• Excellent accuracy and a strong eye for detail when handling data and reports.
• Clear written and spoken communication skills for presenting analytical conclusions.
• Ability to collaborate well with cross-functional teams and contribute to business outcomes.
• Good command of Excel formulas, functions, and charting or visualization features.
• Ability to detect data issues and apply appropriate fixes.
• Comfort working in fast-moving, data-centric environments.

Preferred background

• Experience providing data insights to support cross-functional business decisions.
• Confidence presenting analysis to audiences with different levels of technical knowledge.
• Exposure to other analytics tools or business intelligence platforms is a plus.
