Role overview

Edwards Lifesciences develops manufacturing solutions that help improve patient outcomes worldwide. In this role, you will contribute to the assembly of medical devices, supporting sewing, assembly, delivery, and distribution activities with a strong focus on precision, quality, and continuous improvement.

As an Associate Assembler, you will use manual skill and dexterity to build components into finished medical devices while following regulatory standards and internal company procedures.

Working hours

This position follows a Monday to Thursday schedule, from 5:45am to 4:00pm.

Key duties

  • Operate tools and equipment to assemble medical devices accurately and efficiently at each station, including work across multiple operations, while using work orders, drawings, computers, and parts-status updates.
  • Check inventory at the beginning of the day and whenever moving to a new work order.
  • Carry out tasks in line with approved work instructions and SOPs, including documenting traceability details on device history records and entering information into manufacturing systems when needed.
  • Complete line clearance by cleaning and sanitising workstations at the start of the shift and between work orders, and make sure all components and tools are prepared for production.
  • Review your own work, which may involve magnified visual inspection, and also review a colleague’s work in sequence while giving constructive feedback and escalating issues with equipment or process performance to a supervisor.
  • Arrive on time, maintain regular attendance, avoid excessive absenteeism, and be able to work a full 8-hour shift or longer when required.
  • Handle incidental work such as keeping the general work area clean and orderly.

Requirements

  • Leaving Certificate or an equivalent qualification is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills are important.
  • You should be able to read, understand, and speak English, along with having a basic grasp of numerical functions.
  • Ability to follow detailed manufacturing directions and work with limited supervision is required.
  • You must be comfortable working in a team environment alongside colleagues and a supervisor.
  • You should be able to give and receive feedback effectively during sequential work reviews.
  • Willingness to complete, retain, and apply training for new and more advanced work procedures is expected.
  • Flexibility to work overtime may be needed to support uninterrupted manufacturing activity.
  • You must follow environmental, health, safety, quality, clean-room, and company rules, including controls related to injury prevention and environmental protection.

Additional information

This role requires attention to detail, adherence to quality systems, and a commitment to safe manufacturing practices within a regulated medical device environment.
