Role overview
The Network Operations Center (NOC) acts as the command hub for transportation execution across the Amazon supply chain. It supports several regions, including North America, India, and Europe, and helps keep freight moving smoothly from vendors to fulfillment centers and from fulfillment centers to carrier hubs. When disruptions occur, the team investigates, resolves issues, and keeps the relevant stakeholders updated. Beyond immediate problem solving, the team also looks for recurring patterns, analyzes network data, and suggests or automates process improvements to make operations more efficient.
This function is central to the reliability of Amazon transportation and directly affects the company’s ability to deliver on time.
What the role covers
The Transportation Operations Representative at NOC connects the different parties involved in transportation, including carriers, hubs, warehouses, retail teams, finance, software support, and fulfillment centers. The role focuses on resolving issues that could affect customer experience or business continuity and operates across both inbound and outbound transportation flows.
Inbound work centers on vendor, carrier, and fulfillment center coordination to ensure freight is collected on schedule and reaches the fulfillment center as planned. Outbound work focuses on the relationship between the fulfillment center, carrier, and carrier hub so that trucks depart on time and customer orders are delivered as promised.
Key responsibilities
The person in this position should respond quickly to transportation issues by researching internal systems, evaluating information, and making timely decisions. They should also be comfortable identifying improvement ideas, driving them forward, and following them through to completion.
- Communicate with external parties such as carriers and vendors/suppliers, as well as internal teams including retail, finance, software support, and fulfillment centers.
- Raise issues, data mismatches, or operational variances to the correct owners and teams, then track them until they are resolved.
- Prepare clear written and verbal updates, including weekly summaries of findings, deviations from targets, and presentations for review meetings.
- Support customer experience in a 24x7 operating environment by working in real time.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree is required.
- 12 to 24 months of professional work experience is needed.
- Strong communication skills are essential for coordinating across multiple stakeholders.
- Advanced Excel skills are required, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-changing team environment is important.

- A graduate with a bachelor’s degree.
- Strong analytical and logical thinking abilities.
- Clear communication skills for working with multiple teams.
